First Visit

We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit to our office. It gives us a chance to get acquainted and answer any questions. We ask that you have your health history and any insurance information for us that day. Once your medical and dental history is reviewed, Dr. Gibb will complete a comprehensive orthodontic examination of your teeth, jaws and facial muscles. During this examination the orthodontist will determine:

  • If orthodontics can address your condition or concerns
  • If treatment is needed now or should treatment be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred
  • What types of treatment procedures will correct the problems
  • The length of treatment
  • Estimated fees and payment options for professional services

Orthodontic treatment is an investment that will last a lifetime. Choosing the right orthodontist is an important decision and we are committed to delivering quality treatment that will result in a beautiful and healthy smile.

The initial visit may answer general questions about treatment; however, before making a complete diagnosis and treatment plan, diagnostic records (models, X-rays and photographs) will be obtained. This is usually scheduled at a second visit, however, if time permits, diagnostic records can be completed on the first visit after the initial examination. After a thorough review of all diagnostic records, the treatment plan (or options) will be presented at a consultation appointment with the orthodontist, patient and parents.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your first visit:

  • Any orthodontic insurance benefits (bring your card and provider numbers)
  • Completed Dental/Health history (forms will be provided to you after scheduling your initial exam/consultation)
